Marco hated waiting for staff. His outlet had sparked once, then died, and the front desk told him to wait until morning. He wanted his phone charged now. He found a screwdriver in the maintenance closet and decided to fix it himself.
The breaker box had a note taped to it: "@HostelReaper: Live wires bite." Marco smirked, popped the cover, and touched the wire with the screwdriver tip. The arc flashed white, the muscles in his arm locked, and he couldn’t let go.
Leon saw the sparks and froze. Gianna ran to the hall and fumbled with the breaker, but the labels were faded. Marco’s body convulsed, the smell of burned plastic filling the room. By the time the power cut, it was too late.
The hostel locked the breaker box with a new key and posted a sign: "Do not touch." Beneath the Reaper note, someone wrote: "Death #48. Live wires bite." The outlet stayed dead. Marco did too.
